Early Life and Career

Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron was born on December 21, 1977, in Amiens, France. He studied philosophy and public policy at the Paris Institute of Political Studies and the National School of Administration.

After graduating, Macron worked as an inspector of finances for the French government. In 2007, he joined the Rothschild & Co. investment bank.

Political Career

Macron entered politics in 2012, when he became François Hollande's deputy secretary-general at the Élysée Palace.

In 2014, he was appointed Minister of the Economy and Finance. As minister, Macron implemented a number of business-friendly reforms, including tax cuts and labor market deregulation.

2017 Presidential Election

In 2016, Macron founded the En Marche! movement and announced his candidacy for president.

Macron won the election in May 2017, defeating far-right candidate Marine Le Pen. He is the youngest person to be elected president of France since Napoleon Bonaparte.

Presidency

As president, Macron has continued his economic reform agenda. He has also taken steps to address climate change and strengthen the European Union.

Macron is a centrist politician who has drawn support from both the left and right. He is a proponent of European integration and a strong advocate for democracy and human rights.
